October is Domestic Violence Month and the Hope Crisis Center is holding awareness events throughout the month!

 

October 1st— Doane College 5K Fun Run/Walk, Crete Campus
¨ Co-hosted by the Hansen Leadership Program and the Alumni Office to support the Hope Crisis Center.
T-shirt for all pre-registered participants.
$20 or more suggested do-nation. Registration information can be found at www.doane.edu.

 

October 2nd— In My Daughter’s Name Staged Reading, Beatrice Community Players, 2:00 p.m.

October 5th— In My Daughter’s Name Staged Reading, Doane College Conservatory, 7:00 p.m.
¨ Ticket information can be found at www.hopecrisiscenter.org under Events

October 15th— “Moving to Safety” Stuff the Van Event, Fairbury Wal-Mart, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
¨ Come out to Wal-Mart and show your support by purchasing supplies to help “stuff the van”
and assist victims and children of domestic violence.

 Get the list of supplies at the front door during the event.

October 19th— Candlelight Vigil, Fairbury Courthouse Lawn, 7:00 p.m.
¨ Hope Crisis Center invites the community to attend our Candlelight Vigil to help raise awareness about domestic violence
 and to remember those who have died at the hand of their loved one, support those who still suffer
 and celebrate those who have survived.
 

The evening will feature a Survivor’s story, musical talents, as well as other keynote speakers.
