Creating Balance with Food and Fitness

FAIRBURY – Jefferson Community Health Center will be a host site for “Creating Balance with Food and Fitness,” a 7-week program offered by ten University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension.

            The program is offered through live weekly on-line webinars from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Feb. 7 through March 20. JCHC will offer a local viewing site of the webinars in the Southwing Education Room at JCHC, 2200 H St., Fairbury. Participants may watch the webinar at a host site or on their own computer.

            During classes, participants can submit questions to instructors, interact with participants at their own location and others, and access handouts, links and resources.

            Recorded webinar sessions will be available for viewing at individual convenience 24 hours after each session.

            The cost of the class is $25 after Jan. 24. This includes a wellness kit, postage and class fees. Participants may register online with a credit card at, or by mail.

            The class will help participants know their numbers; develop goals to maintain or improve health; balance calories to manage weight; know which foods to increase; know which foods to reduce; and increase physical activity.
