Electronics Collection and Recycling Event

Electronics Collection and Recycling Event Coming to Pawnee County October 20th!

Got that old television taking up space in your house? What about that outdated, oversized computer you replaced last year? Old refrigerators? Washers? Here is your opportunity to dispose of these items in an environmentally safe way!

Five Rivers Resource Conservation and Development, Inc (RC&D) is hosting an Electronics Collection Event in Pawnee City at the Pawnee County Shop-342 5th Street- on Saturday, October 20th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Items collected will include computer monitors and towers, televisions – all sizes, printers, fax machines, keyboards and computer peripherals, VCR’s, DVD’s, stereo components, etc. Also included in the collections are appliances, including refrigerators, and any type of batteries, large or small.

This event is open to all households in and surrounding Pawnee County. Fees to cover expenses beyond grant funds will be collected at the event according to items being recycled. Each household is allowed to bring in one complete computer system FREE of charge. Fees for additional computer systems and 19” or smaller TV’s are $5.00 for each and $10.00 for each TV 21” or bigger. All other electronics, such as VHS players, DVD players, stereos, etc. are FREE! Appliances and batteries are also collected FREE of charge! Computer hard drives should have all confidential information removed using a “wipe drive” program or reformatting the hard drive prior to recycling.
