Night of the Great Pumpkin
Main Street Beatrice is hosting the annual “Night of the Great Pumpkin” event in downtown Beatrice on Thursday, October 24th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. This family-focused occasion is a safe, fun, and free way to enjoy Halloween with children of all ages.
Kids – don’t forget your costumes as you can enjoy pumpkin bowling, bean bag tossing, and participate in the 5th Annual Scary Scream Contest. Children are welcome to Trick-or-Treat at their favorite Main Street businesses and those in costume will receive a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch!
Capture the moment, with photos by Apple Studio and the Beatrice Daily Sun. Don’t forget the Wizard of Oz Haunted House, Witches Brew, and as always, the sweet treat of dinner opportunities downtown that you would be tricked to miss!
The event will be located on Court Street between 4th and 8th Streets. To encourage safety for all participants, Court Street will be closed after 4pm. Adults are also welcome to wear child-friendly costumes and visit downtown businesses.
During the month of October the Great Pumpkin, has been in Beatrice traveling from school to school to allow children to guess his weight. The Great Pumpkin will be visiting the home of the children who guesses the weight correctly!
“It is always great to be a part of the Beatrice community and see people having fun downtown” said Trevor Chadwick, of Browns Shoe Fit, an organizer of Night of the Great Pumpkin. “It is a pleasure to have support for this event and see the kids get out and enjoy themselves. It is certainly a growing event, with over 1,200 kids downtown last year.”
