Open House Planned for JCHC’s Newly Renovated Patient Wing
FAIRBURY – The public is invited to join JCHC in touring the newly renovated patient wing before it is opened for patient care. Please join us on Tuesday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a light lunch and a tour of the newly renovated area. Please use the main entrance, and gather in the main lobby where a light lunch will be available. Tours will leave from the main lobby.
The patient wing renovation began last August, converting the south wing of Jefferson Community Health Center into private patient rooms.
The full project, estimated to cost about $8.1 million, will allow JCHC to offer private patient rooms with larger handicapped accessible restrooms and private showers. The total project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.
JCHC has already updated its physical therapy department, front lobby area and business office. The donor wall will be under renovation soon.
“We are pleased to continue to adapt and grow to meet the health care needs of our community,” said Chad Jurgens, CEO.
The newly renovated patient wing includes 11 patient rooms, a new nurses’ station, and a newly renovated courtyard area. These new renovated patient rooms will be used for all patient care as the current patient wing is renovated. When completed, JCHC will have 17 patient rooms, which will meet the needs of our community based on trends, Jurgens said.
The next phase of the project will be to renovate the current patient care wing and the current obstetric hallway.
The project involves all internal remodeling, except for the addition of a hallway between the two wings of patient rooms which has been completed.
In order to make the patient room renovation possible and make maximum use of space in the existing facility, several other areas will also be relocated. The full project will include moving Health Information Services, Pharmacy, Lab, Xray, meeting space and a number of offices.
JCHC thanks everyone for their patience throughout the project so far, and for their continued patience as the next phases of the project are done.
