Diller Picnic

Date: July 3 - 5, 2014

“Fast & Furious” is this year’s theme for the Diller Picnic and it is going to be a huge celebration in Diller, Nebraska! So mark your calendars for the 118th Annual Diller Picnic to be held July 3, 4, 5, 2014, and plan to attend. It’s a family affair with events like the tractor pull, carnival, mud drags, kid’s one mile fun run and so much more.


Kick off your Fourth of July weekend on Thursday and bring your kids to the Midway by Thomas D. Thomas Shows. Also, starting at 7pm will be the Nebraska Bush Pullers Tractor Pull located at the south end of Diller. This high action event is guaranteed to be a thrill for the family. There will be beverages and food available on the grounds.


Come back on Friday night at 7pm for a new entertaining and comedic event, the Redneck Farm Olympics. This event is sponsored by the Field Sports Bar of Diller and will consist of Co-ed teams comprised of 3 men and 3 women. The Redneck Farm Olympics consists of six events that will include: Cow Chip Toss, Egg Gathering, and Goat Shoeing. Prizes will be awarded including one for “Best Dressed Team”.  To get your team signed up contact Shana at the Field of Diller, 402-793-8557.


Start the day on Saturday with four morning events that include: a Kid’s One Mile Fun Run, a Kickball Tournament and an Antique Tractor Show all starting at 9am. The Pancake Man will be serving delicious pancakes from 8am to 10am at the Community Building. Later Saturday morning the Mid-State Mu-draggers will return to the Diller Picnic for the 11th straight year and pasture golf will take place for the 23rd year in a row.


Prior to the annual parade at 7pm, take in a Chicken Barbecue at the Opera House or visit the Our Savior Lutheran food stand at the Community Building beginning at 5pm. Following the parade will be a FREE Entertainment in the Park that has yet to be determined.


Throughout the three days the carnival will be running, along with American Legion Bingo and St. Paul’s Lutheran Food Stand on the carnival grounds.
