Marshall County, Kansas Highway Accident Injures Three

BEATRICE –  Three people were injured in a collision between a sport-utility-vehicle and a farm tractor pulling a planter, south of Waterville, Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the injured persons were the driver of the car, and two passengers.  The accident happened at about 3:30 Monday afternoon, about five miles south of Waterville on U.S. Highway 77.

A 2006 Cadillac Escalade driven by 79-year-old Delores Parker of Waterville was northbound on the highway when she tried to pass the farm tractor and planter, but struck the implement.  The Cadillac overturned, coming to rest on its top, on the highway.

Parker was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.  Also taken to that hospital was 81-year-old Delevan Parker.  A passenger in the Escalade….55-year-old Brenda Prell, of Hanover, Kansas was taken to the Marysville Hospital.  The extent of injuries was not immediately known.

The KHP says the operator of the John Deere Tractor, 74-year-old Robert Blaser, of Waterville, was not injured.
