The Central American children crossing the southern border of the United States has some Republican Governors concerned about the impact on their states.

Nebraska U.S. Senate candidate David Domina says it’s a refugee problem.

The Democrat, in Beatrice Tuesday evening for a fundraising dinner, said immigration courts are overcrowded and solving the problem will take more than calling retired judges back into duty.

He said comprehensive immigration reform hasn’t been taken up in the House because of election cycles and money in politics.

Domina is running against Republican Ben Sasse.  Recently, independent candidate Jim Jenkins, a rancher from Callaway gathered enough petition signatures to earn a spot on the November ballot.  Domina says he welcomes the additional competition.
