February 14, 1956 - June 12, 2011

Bradley Ray White, 55, of Omaha, formerly of Fairbury, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.

Brad was born on February 14, 1956 in Omaha to Dick and Joan (Simmelink) White. In May of 1959 Bradís father graduated from barber school and moved the family to Fairbury after purchasing a local barbershop. At age 14 he pedaled his bike all over town, delivering Wonder Bread to all the local grocery stores prior to going to school each day, rain or shine. He graduated from Fairbury Jr./Sr. High School in 1974 and went on to attend Fairbury Junior College for a year.

After college, he began working at Safeway grocery store as a meat cutter. On April 15, 1978 he married Kathy Stewart at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. To this union two children were born. Brad then went on to become the purchasing director at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital for several years. In 1984 he followed his love of cars, and joined KJ Chevrolet, later known as Riverside Chevrolet, as a salesman. There he took great pride in his customers for over 20 years. While at Riverside, Brad earned numerous awards and achievements for his outstanding salesmanship and excellent service to his loyal customers.

Brad moved to Omaha in March of 2010 to be closer to his children and begin a new journey in life. There he worked for Nebraska Furniture Mart before returning to his love of cars at Gregg Young Chevrolet.

Brad enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed boating at Lovewell Lake. On the weekends if you couldnít find him at home, you knew where he was. From early childhood, Lovewell was always a big part of Bradís life. There you could always find him fishing, being with his family and friends, telling stories and, of course, shining his boat - his pride and joy.

It was Bradís outgoing personality, hard work ethic and ability to tell a story that gravitated people towards him. He had a heart of gold, and would do anything for his family and friends.

Brad took great pride in his family, especially his granddaughter Paisley. He was very proud of his children and their achievements in life. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Brad is preceded in death by his father, Dick; grandparents, Herbert and Hazel White and Glenn and Agnes Simmelink.

He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Allen and husband Joe; son, Stewart White and wife Mandy; granddaughter, Paisley Grace White, all of Omaha; mother, Joan White of Fairbury; sister, Brenda Vorderstrasse and special friend Ed Blinn of Marion, IN; brother, Craig White of Bruning; mother-in-law, Pris Stelling and husband Bill of Fairbury; former wife, Kathy White of Fairbury; brother-in-law Brian Stewart and wife Chris of Fairbury; sister-in-law, Lisa Morehead and husband Larry of Clyde KS; sister-in-law, Susie Patton of Fairbury; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. A special thank you to all of the nurses and care providers at the Josie Harper Hospice House for their excellent care and dignity they provided Brad during his final days. Their compassion and sincerity is deeply appreciated, and will not be forgotten.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Interment Fairbury City Cemetery. Visitation with the family Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home.
