Frederick Lannie Adams, age 72 years of Blue Springs died Sunday morning, June 12, 2011 at his home. He was born Nov. 19, 1938 at Blue Springs and spent most of his childhood in the Wymore-Blue Springs area, graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1956. He married Janice Wrightsman on August 9, 1958 at Fairbury. They moved to Blue Springs from Grand Island in 1976. Fred was the owner and operator of Adams Optical in Beatrice from 1982 until his retirement in 2005. His hobbies included playing KENO and visiting with his friends; his dog, Gunner; and especially family gatherings and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Lannie is survived by his wife, Janice; by his son, Monte Von Adams and his wife, Kim of Beatrice; by three grandsons, Caelan, Colton, and Camden Adams, all of Beatrice; by a brother, Dick Adams of Wymore; by a sister, Dianne Heaps and her husband Bob of Peoria, AZ; by his mother-in-law, Lorraine Wrightsman of Blue Springs; by brothers-in-law, Dick Wrightsman and his wife Pat of Spearfish, S.D.; and Ken Wrightsman and his wife Trish of Colorado Springs, CO; by a sister-in-law, Julie Manes and her husband Brad of Lincoln; and by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Dixie C. (Atkins) Adams; by his daughter, Neelee Dawn (Adams) Oltmans on Oct. 20, 1997; by his sister, Connie Adam; and by his father-in-law, Chester V. Wrightsman.

Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
Closed casket visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service on Thursday with his family receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 N. Ninth St., Wymore, with Clayton Lundstedt of the Wymore Church of Christ officiating.
