Ivan E. Klein, 59 years of age, of Lincoln, formerly of Adams, NE. passed away at the St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center Saturday night, June 11, 2011. He was born on December 27, 1951 in Lincoln, NE. to Clarence and Opal (Shotwell) Klein and was a 1970 graduate of Adams High School. He was married to Marj (Cookson) Wolfe until she passed away about 10 years ago. Ivan had helped his father on the farm and raised sheep, was a janitor for the Adams Public School, and had been employed at the Standard Meat/Premium Protein Products in Lincoln. He had lived in Adams until moving to Lincoln over 20 years ago. He was a member of the Eastridge Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and was a deacon and had sung in several of the church cantatas'; was an Eagle Scout, was a scout leader in Adams for over 20 years and a Merit Badge Counselor while in Adams; member of the Scout Venture Crew in Lincoln where he earned his scuba diving certification; was elected into the Order of the Arrow, the highest honor in scouting; and was a commissioner at Camp Cornhusker in Nebraska. Ivan enjoyed singing, ushering at Husker Football games, taking pictures, attending garage sales, collecting cook books and old Boy Scout Rank books, all types of history, hiking, bicycling, camping, and spending time with his close friends in Lincoln.

Survivors include 2 sisters, ArDella Witkowski of Turtle Lake, WI. and Patsy Wolfe and husband Bill of Smithsburg, MD.; stepson Robert Wolfe and wife Kendra of Boston; stepdaughter Carrie Wolfe of Lincoln; loving companion Lori Williams of Adams; niece Jill Molls and husband Jasen of Turtle Lake, WI.; nephew Christopher Klein and wife Desiree of Branson, MO.; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Opal (Shotwell) Klein; wife Marj Klein; an Infant son; and a foster brother Carl Leeper.

A memorial has been established to the family's choice with Karl Gramann and the Adams State Bank in charge.

Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NE.

The body will lie in state from 2-9:00 Thursday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams with the family greeting friends from 6:30- 8:00, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Eastridge Presbyterian Church, 1135 Eastridge Drive in Lincoln with Reverend Jim Crelin and Reverend Jenae Bauer officiating. A family prayer services will be held at 9:45 A.M. Friday at the church.
