Larry L. Langdale, 69 years of age, of Mission, TX., formerly of Ferndale, WA. and Beatrice, NE passed away in McAllen, Texas Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was born on October 20, 1941 in Beatrice, NE. to Clifford and Leota Pearl (Weideman) Langdale. Larry was a graduate of Beatrice High School and a graduate of the University Of Nebraska in Lincoln Law College. He had been married to Margaret Jean Simic and Gloria Jean Baird. He lived in the Ferndale, Washington area for over 20 years and then moved to Mission, Texas in 2008 to be near his father. Larry was a member of Christ the King in Bellingham, WA. and had served as a deacon and an elder; member of the NRA, and an active member of the Nebraska Bar Association. Larry donated a lot of his time, money, legal aid, and efforts to help his church and to help under privileged persons in the Ferndale, WA area. He especially enjoyed serving those in need around the holiday season volunteering to serve meals at a homeless shelter in Bellingham, WA and tried to involve his children. Larry enjoyed studying history, was an avid reader, and being involved in the lives of his family (especially his twin daughters).
Survivors include his children, Paul James Langdale of Tucson, Arizona, and twin daughters Tara and Tiffany Langdale of Sarasota, FL.; step sons Derrick Ames of Ferndale, WA. and Charles Ames of Ft. Meyers. FL; one grandson Kody Ames; sister Judith McCuddin and husband Roger of Wilmington, Ill.; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 4-9:00 Sunday and Monday until 10:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE.
