Arbanna K. (Paben) Zimmerman, 71 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2011. She was born on March 13, 1940 in Beatrice to Henry and Rose (Trauernicht) Paben and lived in Beatrice her entire life. Arbanna was a 1958 graduate of Beatrice High School. She and LeRoy A. Zimmerman were married on June 18, 1961 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. She was employed at the Hallmark stores in Beatrice for 22 years, including Dees Hallmark, Rod's Hallmark, and also at Gales Gift Shop before retiring in 2006. Arbanna was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice, and enjoyed sewing, reading, completing Sudoku puzzles, bowling, following Nascar, but especially enjoyed keeping track of her grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Acton and husband Tom of Katy, TX.; 2 sons, Leslie Zimmerman and wife JoAn of Lincoln, and Jerry Zimmerman and wife Tara of Bentonville, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, Courtney Acton of Stillwater, OK., Ciara Acton of Katy, TX., Brandon Zimmerman and Bryce Zimmerman of Lincoln, and Brett Zimmerman and Zoe Zimmerman of Bentonville; mother Rose (Trauernicht) Paben of Beatrice; sister Laurabelle "Laura" Lisec and husband Bob of Lincoln; brother Dennis Paben and wife Connie of Lincoln; mother in law Blanda Zimmerman of Beatrice; brother in law Garold Zimmerman and wife Margaret of Beatrice; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Zimmerman (June 9, 2010); father Henry G. Paben; father in law Arthur H. Zimmerman. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in charge.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 9-9:00 Wednesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice and at the church one hour preceding the service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Reverend David Kramer officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. Wednesday at the church.
