Frieda Ida Maria Drewes, 101, Beatrice formerly of Plymouth, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Beatrice Manor. She was born May 23, 1910 near Plymouth to Fred and Minnie (Schmidt) Christ. She lived on a farm between Jansen and Plymouth until she married John Drewes August 29, 1928 in Kansas. They farmed near Plymouth until moving to Plymouth where she worked in café’s before working in the kitchen at Martin Lutheran Home in Beatrice. Frieda enjoyed playing cards, and babysitting her great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and ladies aid.

Survivors include her daughter, Delores Busch and husband Eugene of Plymouth; grandchildren, Glenda Johnsen and husband Roger of Beatrice, Peggy Lindblad and husband Lonnie ofMartel, Douglas Busch and wife Theressa of Plymouth, and Susan Brandt of Plymouth; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by, parents, Fred and Minnie (Schmidt) Christ; husband, John; 3 sisters, Rosie Janssen, Julia Sellenrick, Annie Christ; brothers, Fred, Charlie, Henry and Edward Christ; grandson-in-law, Brian Brandt; great-great grandson, Jon Busch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth, with Pastor Jon Bortulin officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Plymouth. The body will lie in state at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Plymouth, and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the church one hour preceding services. A memorial has been established to the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church with the church elders in charge. An online guest book is available at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
