Irene G. Koch, 49, DeWitt, NE, died on Monday, June 6, 2011, at her home. She was born on December 24, 1961, in Sabetha, KS, to Richard and Patricia (Sutter) Koch. She grew up and attended grade school in the country by Honey Creek, NE. In 1980 she graduated from Hiawatha (Kansas) High School. She worked at Amigos, D & L Decorating, American Tool (DeWitt & Beatrice), Store Kraft, and worked with Alan on the farm. She was a hard worker. She enjoyed travel, gardening, flowers, sewing, photography, karaoke singing. She loved being a grandma.
She is survived by Alan “Butch” Gronemeyer of Plymouth; children, Alicia Gill of Lincoln, Jeremy Gill of Beatrice, Preston Gronemeyer and fiancé, Brenda Jantzen, of Plymouth, Laci Zimmer and husband, Jason, of Lincoln; 1 grandchild, Kienen Gill of Beatrice; parents, Richard and Patricia (Sutter) Koch of Cambria, Wisconsin; brothers and sisters, Dee Doan of Omaha, Sue Sunnenberg of Sabetha, KS, Patrick Koch of Louisville, KY, Geraldine Steinich of Cambria, Wisconsin, Phyllis Mallott of Kansas City, MO, Darrell Koch of Kingman, KS, Jacque Campbell of Shenandoah, Iowa, Sheila Roland of Beatrice, Christine Koch of Concordia, KS; sister-in-law, Yvonne Rahe of DeWitt; brother-in-law, Wendell Gronemeyer of Plymouth; Parents-in-law, Eldred & Aleatha Gronemeyer of Plymouth; numerous nieces and nephews, loved friends.
She was preceded in death by niece, Devin Johnson; grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, in the Plymouth Community Center, Plymouth, NE. Visitation will be at Harman-Wright Mortuary, BEATRICE on Tuesday, from noon to 9 p.m. and Harman-Wright Mortuary, PLYMOUTH on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE. Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice/Plymouth, in charge of arrangements.
