Betty Marie (Cullison) Wilhelm, 76, Beatrice, NE, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on October 29, 1934, in Wymore, NE, to Marlyn and Elsie (Lund) Cullison. In 1952 she graduated from Beatrice High School. She married Raymond Wilhelm on April 10, 1955, at Centenary Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scouts, room mother, and was Eagles Auxiliary Past President, Church service St. Paulís Ladies Aid, Ladies Aid Quilter, served on the Evangelism Committee of Church 2003-2007. She worked at the Beatrice State Developmental Center for 18 years. She enjoyed making quilts for family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Messner and husband, Charlie, of Falls City, NE; sons, Michael Wilhelm and wife, Marci of Crete, NE, Rodney Wilhelm and wife, Georgia, of Leeís Summit, MO; grandchildren, Jonathan Wilhelm and Michelle Wilhelm of Tucson, AZ, Brett Wilhelm and Emily Wilhelm of Leeís Summit, MO; brothers, Marlyn Cullison, Jr. and wife, Alberta, of Beatrice, Robert Cullison and wife, Cheryl of Beatrice; step grandchildren, Levon Poel and wife, Adrianne, stationed in Norfolk, VA, Laci Coyle and husband, Ryan, of North Sioux City, SD; step great grandson, Carter Thomas Coyle of North Sioux City, SD; step great granddaughter, Aubrey Poel of Norfolk, VA; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond William Henry Wilhelm (6/28/2001); parents, Marlyn and Elsie (Lund) Cullison.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beatrice, NE, with Pastor Douglas Irmer, officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Friday (6/17/2011) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sunday (6/19/2011) from Noon until 6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial has been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Asaracare Hospice with the mortuary in charge. Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice, in charge of arrangements.
