Ruth LaVaughn Coady, was born on April 25, 1915, near Eagleville, Missouri, to Joseph S. Clawson and Hallie Dalsey Hook. She died on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, Nebraska, at the age of 96 years. Ruth was baptized on February 14, 1943, at the Presbyterian Church. She was also baptized in the Christian Church on October 28, 1948. Both baptisms took place in Stamford, Harlan County, Nebraska. After living in Missouri, Ruth and her parents moved to Cleo Springs, Oklahoma and then to Beaver City, Nebraska where Ruth attended public schools. She began working as a waitress at the age of 15, which helped her family survive through the “Dirty 30’s”. Ruth married William Orville Coady on May 16, 1936 in Norton, Kansas. They lived in Stamford, Nebraska for the next 36 years before they came to Hebron in retirement. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and siblings: Dean, Sean, Dolan, Buelah, Louise and Wilbur. Survivors are daughters, Tillie de Freese and Gloria Baker and husband, Rick, and son, Orville L. (Bill) Coady and wife, Connie; 8 grandchildren: Michele Marie Brettmann, William Eric Coady, Nathaniel Ray Coady, Jonathan Orville Coady, Matthew Jason de Freese, Jeremy Jason Baker, Natalie Jean Baker and Aaron Coady de Freese; 12 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Service: Thursday, June 30, 2011 @ 2:00 PM at First Community Church, Hebron
